Sport Activities Coordinator

Children’s charity providing residential and recreational facilities for children with disabilities and special educational needs requires a permanent part-time (24hours per week) Sport Activities Coordinator to develop and deliver a range of sport and recreation activities aimed at fulfilling the charity’s mission of Fitness for All.

Key to this role is a passion for encouraging children and young people of all abilities.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative  sessions which can be adapted dependent on the needs of young people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a programme of high quality sports initiatives for a varied audience of mixed ability
  • Produce accurate assessments and reports on children and young people’s progress
  • Participate in the promotion of the sports programme to include dealing with enquiries and bookings.
  • Ensure a high level of customer care is maintained at all times

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities and/or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • A coaching qualification UKCC Level 2
  • Rebound Therapy level 2 qualification
  • Be self motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands
  • First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
  • Own transport
  • Provide accurate details for DBS check

Benefits

  • 30 days holiday per year (pro-rata, including bank holidays)
  • £8.00 per hour

Assistant Sports Coach – Maternity cover (6 months)

To assist in the planning,  organising and delivery of a varied programme of exercise activities aimed at fulfilling the charity’s mission of Fitness for All.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of fitness activities for children and young people with a range of abilities.
  • Assist with administration duties.
  • Participate in the maintenance and cleaning of gym equipment.
  • Ensure a high level of customer care is maintained at all times

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with people with disabilities and/or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • A sport qualification level 1
  • Rebound Therapy level 2 qualification – desirable
  • Be enthusiastic and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands
  • First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
  • Own transport
  • Provide accurate details for DBS check

Benefits
