Senior Sports Coach

Senior coach required to deliver a programme of sports activities suitable for a varied audience with particular emphasis on encouraging attendance by children who do not necessarily participate in sport or physical activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Sports Manager to deliver specialist coaching with particular emphasis on Inclusive fitness, Rebound therapy and Special Needs classes.
  • Class preparation including session plans and post activity reviews.
  • Dealing with customer enquiries and bookings.
  • Assisting with the general maintenance and cleaning of the gym.

Must be self motivated and enthusiastic with a flexible approach to working hours.

Level 2, or above, coaching qualification essential as is experience of similar work.

Own transport is essential due to location.

24 hours per week over 4 days, some evenings and weekends. 9 month contract for maternity cover.

Activity Coordinator

Opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to plan and deliver a programme of sport and recreation activities suitable for a varied audience including people with disabilities, pre-school and young adults aimed at fulfilling the charity’s mission of “Fitness for All”.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering a programme of sports and recreational activities with emphasis on Special Needs, Inclusive Fitness and birthday parties.
  • Set up of equipment and conducting safety checks
  • Session evaluations and activity reviews
  • Responding to client enquiries
  • General administration task such as risk assessments, accident records

Qualifications and experience

  • Level 1 or above Sport Coaching qualification
  • Rebound therapy level 2
  • First Aid certificate
  • UK Coaching Safeguarding Children or similar
  • Experience of working with mixed ability groups

Must have own transport due to location.

Part-time minimum 18 hours per week Mon- Fri, including some evenings, plus Sunday birthday parties.

Volunteer Marketing Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated individual to help our Marketing Manager deliver the charity’s marketing and fundraising activities.

  • Help with the production of content for our website, BLOG, newsletters and social media channels
  • Maintain our CRM system
  • Get involved with community and event fundraising
  • Help with corporate partnership research
  • Would suit a student looking for work experience
  • Must have a friendly and helpful personality
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Publisher and Mailchimp would be useful

Volunteer Minute Taker

We are looking for an experienced minute-taker to assist the Chairman, Trustees and General Manager with efficient minute-taking.

Key duties

  • Take accurate and thorough minutes during Trustee meetings
  • Type up draft minutes promptly after the meeting and circulate to all relevant stakeholders

Person Specification

  • Solid experience of taking minutes accurately and quickly
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Familiar with working confidentially
  • Able to carry out tasks in an environment that often deals with sensitive and sometimes distressing information
  • Strong IT and typing skills
  • Good listening skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Able to type up the minutes to an agreed deadline
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months
  • Prepared to and sign the charity’s confidentiality and safeguarding policies
  • Prepared to undertake a full induction and training

Volunteer Gardener

We are looking for a volunteer gardener to help with maintain our gardens and play areas.

Main duties include:

  • Carrying out various gardening duties with the minimum of supervision.
  • Weeding, raking, leaf collection and pruning (excludes lawn maintenance)
  • The use of strimmers and leaf blowers
  • The use and maintenance of garden tools

Person requirements

  • Keen gardener with horticultural knowledge
  • Friendly and helpful personality
  • Prepared to work flexible/seasonal hours
  • Car owner with current driving licence
  • Prepared to work in an environment with people with Special Needs
  • Prepared to adhere to and sign the charity’s confidentiality and safeguarding policies
  • Prepared to undertake a full induction and training
