Fundraise. Make it happen!

The Wingate Centre does not receive any government funding and we rely on voluntary contributions from generous individuals, companies, community groups and charitable trusts. We need your help in order to survive and raise the sum of £300,000 each year to continue our life-changing work.

Whether you are an individual, a group of friends or a community group, there are lots of ways you can make a difference!

One of the most enjoyable ways to support us is to carry out your own exciting fundraising event! From bake sales and coffee mornings, to sponsored hikes and cycle rides we have had some fantastic events take place on our behalf.

This not only helps us to raise vital funds but it also helps us to raise our profile within the community!

We also host our own fundraising events throughout the year that we’d love to welcome you to. Or you can simply donate a raffle or auction prize. It’s up to you! Either way we’d love to hear from you.

You can also recycle some of your unwanted items here. We can turn old mobile phones and printer cartridges into cash. We can take your once-loved, good condition kids clothes, toys and books and find them a new home whilst raising vital funds at the same time.

How does your fundraising help?

Your money really does go such a long way here at The Wingate Centre. As a result of the dedication and loyalty of our team, our volunteers and the efficient way in which we operate, over 92p in every £1 of income goes directly towards enriching the lives of children and young adults who come to us for holidays and recreational activities.

Here is an example of how your money can help:

  • £10 will pay for special food for a child with digestive problems.
  • £50 pays for an item of tactile equipment to encourage movement and co-ordination in a profoundly disabled child.
  • £200 will pay for a child to have a holiday of a lifetime here at The Centre
  • £1500 will pay for a fully padded bed surround for a child with involuntary movement or epilepsy.
  • £5000 will support a 4 night stay for group of 25 children.
