Fundraise. Make it happen!
One of the most enjoyable ways to support the Wingate Centre is to carry out your own exciting fundraising events! From bake sales to sponsored hikes and cycle rides to a gum ball rally we have had some fantastic events take place on our behalf. This not only helps us to raise vital funds but it also helps us to raise our profile within the community!
We host our own fundraising events throughout the year that you can come along to with your family and friends to help make them a success or even simply donate a raffle or auction prize!
How does your fundraising help?
Your money really does go such a long way here at The Wingate Centre. As a result of the dedication and loyalty of our team, our volunteers and the efficient way in which we operate over 92p in every £1 of income goes directly towards enriching the live’s of children and young adults who come to us for respite holidays and recreational activities. Here’s is an example of how your money can help:
- £10 will pay for special food for a child with digestive problems.
- £50 pays for an item of tactile equipment to encourage movement and co-ordination in a profoundly disabled child.
- £200 will pay for a child to have a holiday of a lifetime here at the Centre
- £1500 will pay for a fully padded bed surround for a child with involuntary movement or epilepsy.
- £5000 will support a 4 night stay for group of 25 children.
Benefits of supporting The Wingate Centre
Supporting a great local cause can be a brilliant way of injecting some feel good factor into the office and engaging employees by giving something back to the community. By supporting The Wingate Centre in 2017 you can be reassured that the work we do here makes a huge difference to the lives of children and young adults in your area and beyond. Matt, 23 from Nantwich, has autism and visits the centre on a weekly basis:
“Matt is a very kind hearted young man with a lovely nature. Spending time at the Wingate Centre not only helps him physically but in terms of his confidence. He’s not treated like he has a disability when he’s here and it gives him independence. He’s come a long way, when he first started he wouldn’t socialise and would run off and hide, whereas now he’s confident in coming here with his carer and has just achieved his first Proficiency Award!”
We value the support of the local community greatly and aim to work with your business or organisation to ensure you gain the most from your fundraising efforts. Wherever we can we share news and updates about fundraising activities and support received from the local community — on the website, social media and in the local press. We are also more than happy to facilitate team building days/projects whereby staff can come into the centre and volunteer and provide you with some fun ways that you can fundraise!
