The Lyceum LITES, our SPARKS theatre group for adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities returned to the main stage at Crewe Lyceum Theatre this year as part of the venue’s community showcase.

Latest news (1).png

This year’s performance was about the 80th anniversary of VE Day and told the story of life in Crewe during the Second World War. Scenes explored key moments such as rationing, building air raid shelters, and the bombing of the Rolls-Royce factory — all events that shaped the local community during the war.

Working in partnership with the Lyceum Theatre, the Lyceum LITES provide a space for adults with SEND to take part in creative theatre projects, build confidence, and develop performance skills in a supportive environment.

The group will start again in September, preparing for their next performance on the outdoor stage in Lyceum Square as part of the Christmas lights switch-on event. It promises to be another exciting opportunity for members to showcase their talents and be part of a major local celebration.

We are so very proud of the group and can’t wait to see what they create next.
