Our new accommodation is for people who are used to ringing round to find out what “accessible” really means.
Maybe you’re a family with a disabled child who needs a hoist and an accessible bathroom, and you’d like a holiday where the logistics are already sorted. Maybe you’re an adult with SEND or complex physical needs who wants an independent short break, or a wheelchair user looking for self-catering that works from the front door to the kitchen.
You might be a carer or support worker organising a short break, or the family of someone who comes to our sessions and needs somewhere local to stay overnight.
Whatever brings you here, you’ll be staying somewhere safe and supported that is accessible in practice as well as on the listing.
Your room
Purpose-built for people with high physical needs.
We have two fully accessible rooms, both designed from the ground up for guests with additional needs.
Room 6 is an en-suite twin room that sleeps two. It has a ceiling hoist, a wet room bathroom with roll-in shower and drop-down grab rails, wide doorways and plenty of space to move freely.
Room 7 is a two-bedroom suite that sleeps four in two twin rooms. It has an en-suite wet room with roll-in shower and drop-down grab rails, and one of the bedrooms has a ceiling hoist that connects straight through to the wet room.
Both are on the ground floor with level access throughout, so there are no lifts or stairs to deal with and nothing in the way of a relaxing, comfortable stay.
Shared facilities
All guests share a fully accessible self-catering kitchen, equipped with everything you need for your stay. There's also a shared lounge where you can relax, watch TV or simply enjoy the company of others. The kitchen and lounge are both fully accessible, so you can make them your own from the moment you arrive.
Our location
Set in the scenic countryside near Nantwich in Cheshire, The Wingate Centre is a fully inclusive facility that has been supporting people with SEND for many years. Our new accommodation sits within the centre's grounds, giving guests access to beautiful outdoor spaces, an on-site cafe and a wide variety of activity options, as well as accessible routes and local facilities in the surrounding area. Free parking is available on site. We're also easy to reach by road and are happy to advise on the best accessible transport options to get here.

Our accommodation is designed for anyone who needs truly accessible, self-catering facilities – not just a room that meets minimum legal standards, but a space purpose-built for people with complex physical needs. It's also ideal for carers and support workers, and disability sports or activity groups booking as a group.
