We’ve had a flurry of donations and support over the last few months, so we wanted to give a big shout out to the people and organisations who help ensure we can continue brightening the lives of children and adults with SEND.
Here's a round-up of some of the people and businesses who have recently been giving us a helping hand. And if you or your organisation would like to donate to The Wingate Centre, please email fundraising@thewingatecentre.co.uk
Legat Owen team walk the walls to boost fundraiser
The team at Legat Owen have walked the historic Chester City Walls non-stop for 40 hours to help take them closer to their fundraising target.
The Wingate Centre is thrilled to be among a select few local charities chosen by the property firm to benefit from their £40k fundraising drive.
The company – which has offices in Nantwich, Chester and Liverpool – is celebrating its 40th anniversary throughout this year by raising £40,000 for four local charities.
And they’re already well over halfway towards their fundraising goal, with the total so far standing at around £26.5k.
The team’s Chester City Walls walk was the headline event in their fundraising campaign. From midnight on Thursday 18 June, they walked the same two-mile circuit – multiple times – through the night and into the day.
A huge thank you to Legat Owen – your efforts are helping make a big difference to children and adults with SEND who we support here at the Wingate.

Meadow Vale Foods donation
Wrexham-based food and beverage manufacturer Meadow Vale Foods has given our funds a lift thanks to their £5,000 donation.
Frances Brown, Wingate’s Partnership & Engagement Lead, said: “A big thank you to Meadow Vale Foods for their generous donation. We’re immensely grateful to the businesses, organisations and people who help ensure we continue to provide inclusive sport, recreational and residential facilities at our centre in South Cheshire.”

Card Factory grant supports the Wingate’s work
The Wingate Centre is delighted to have been chosen by the Card Factory Foundation for a Community Fund Grant of £5,000.
This follows a nomination from Laura at the Card Factory’s Nantwich branch in recognition of the work we do in the community.
Rhiannon Vine, Trust Fundraiser at the Wingate, who accepted the cheque from Laura, said: “We’re a small charity, so funding from organisations like the Card Factory Foundation make a huge positive impact on the work we do.”
Thank you to Mark Johnson Estate Agents
Mark Johnson Estate Agents came to us with a £1,000 donation to help our work – and we couldn’t be more pleased.
Based in Nantwich, Mark was impressed with the range of activities and services we provide for people with special educational needs and disabilities, from trampolining and cooking to residential holidays.
Frances Brown, Wingate’s Partnership & Engagement Lead, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Mark for his donation. It will help fund our charity’s work to make sure people with additional needs can lead more active lives.”
